Résumé : | Early studies of the pocket gophers of the John Day Formation described a number of related species, most of which apparently occured together at the same stratigraphic level. A number of morphologic features of Entoptychus are associated with different stratigraphic levels and provide a basis for subdivision of the genus. Frequency distribution and evolution, and discusses the comparative skeletal morphology known fossil rodent genus of the Tertiary. TABLE DES MATIERES : 1.Introduction 2.Résumé of Physical Stratigraphy 3.Sample Analysis 4.Systematic description 5.Comparative morphology of the Skull in Entoptycus 6.Comparative morphology of the Mandible in Entoptycus 7.Comparative morphology of the Teeth in Entoptycus 8.Comparative morphology of the Posteranial Skeleton in Entoptycus 9.Summary of Intrabasinal Relationship of Entoptycus 10.Intergeneric Relationships 11.Conclusion |
