Résumé : | The currently accepted suprageneric classification of Recent patelloid archaeogastropodes is based largely on radula and gill morphology, with relatively little consideration given to the shell. Existing phylogenies have been based primarily on soft-part relations among living forms. Given in the present study are detailed descriptions and analyses of the microstructure and shell-layer relationships of Recent and fossil gasteropods of the primitive superfamilies Patelloidea and Bellerophontoidea. TABLE DES MATIERES 1.Introduction 2.Shell structures 3.Stratification of shell material 4.Superfamily Patelloidea - Shell-structure groups - Geographic distribution - Classification and shell structure - Phylogenetic implantations 5.Superfamily Bellerophontoidea |
