Résumé : | The cranial mandibular and postcranial skeleton of specimens of Pleurolicus is describeb and compared with related fossil forms from the John Day Formation and the earlier Miocene formations of western South Dakota and with recent taxa. The larger geomyoid specimens that occur stratigraphically above the teilzone of Meniscomys and the beneath that of Entoptychus in the John Day Formation do not seem divisible into either chronospecies or chorospecies of Entoptychus. TABLE DES MATIERES 1. Stratigraphic relationships of Pleurolicines in the John Day Formation 2. Systematic description 3. Comparative morphology of the Postcranial skeleton in Pleurolicus 4. Summary of Intergeneric Relationships 5. Age and correlation 6. Conclusions |
