Résumé : | This thesis of research initiation is based on plagioclase crystals 3D reconstruction inside a synthetic basaltic magma. The aim of this work is to study and understand the evolution of crystals from the XP15 experiment realized by Pupier (2006). During this experiment 4 magma marbles were synthetized in different cooling conditions and “trempes”. Those marbles were modelised over previous thesis and the work went on this year in order to the marbles to be compared among themselves, to follow their evolution and to continue Pupier's observations (2006) In order to do so, the software 3DEXPERIENCE© of Dassault Systems was used to modelise each crystal individually inside the marble. After the modelisation, the software allows the measurement of the crystals axis, their volume, to calculate the CSD, and study the shape of each crystal. This thesis allowed to put forward an increasing evolution of their size from an acicular form to an equant - tabular form. As well as an evolution of the crystallinity as the quenching temperature decreases. |
