Résumé : | Total E&P Norge AS is an affiliate of the French Total Group, one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world. This affiliate hosts the New Reserves Growth team (NRG), composed of geologists and geophysicists dedicated to new ventures projects in northern Europe, which has expressed the need for a new tool to store exploration wells data. This tool will be shared by the Total affiliates in Norway, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The final objective is to accelerate and facilitate the processes of data search and loading. To complete this project, it was necessary to define the content, the software, the functionalities, and the working methods to set up for the establishment of a Northern Europe reference well database. In order to reach these objectives, an audit has been performed in the Norwegian and the British affiliates to understand users' needs. Subsequently, an overview of the affiliates' well data flows, and a comparative study of the existing solutions on the market was conducted, resulting in the DMW (Data Master Well) database being chosen as the most appropriate. DMW is a well database combined with the interpretation software Sismage, both developed internally by Total. DMW will be used to store reference well data, and to publish them into Sismage projects. DMW will ensure integrity, traceability and accessibility of the data in Sismage to all users. In addition to this, working methods and guide rules have been formulated to facilitate sharing of the data between software and affiliates, while guaranteeing traceability and consistency of the data. A DMW pilot test has been conducted with Norwegian data. This pointed out certain limitations in terms of data content and management, and the lack of reliable sources for certain data types in Norway. It is estimated that it would take approximately two years to reach full completeness of the database. In addition, suggestions for improvements have been sent to the developers of Sismage/DMW. DMW will be launched in September 2015 in Total E&P Norge AS. |
