Résumé : | CD ROM D'ACCOMPAGNEMENT A DEMANDER A LA BANQUE DE PRET- This book contains the proceedings of the 36th University of Nottingham Feed Conference. The general themes of the conference were international food safety, feed standards, environmental concerns and animal health. Issues of food safety are addressed in chapters on regulatory requirements and legislation in the UK, EU and USA. With increasing trade in animal feeds and products throughout the world, it is vital that regulatory processes are understood and that statutory obligations are met. An international approach is also taken with feed standards for ruminants. Chapters address the latest recommendations on calf nutrition, the new standards for dairy cows in the USA and the future recommendations for dairy cows in the UK that are emerging from the Feed Into Milk project. For non-ruminants, the major areas addressed are pig health in the absence of in-feed antibiotics, exogenous enzymes in poultry diets and practical feeding systems for broilers. There are also chapters on the feeding of companion animals (horses, cats and dogs). Consumer issues are dealt with in chapters on fatty acid composition of animal products and the influence of diet composition on environmental pollution. In all chapters the authors have translated scientific principles into practicalrecommendations. This book is essential reading for all people concerned with animal feeding, including nutritionists, researchers, consultants, progressive farmers and advanced students of the animal sciences.
