Résumé : | In 1900 the international oil industry was small and dominated by one company, the American Standard Oil. By 1914 the industry was growiing rapidly and there were a number of major companies, among them Royal Dutch/Shell, already a giant ; the Anglo-Persian Oil Company which was to become BP; and Mexican Eagle. The first was Dutch-British and the others British or British-controlled. How did Britain, which at that time had pratically no known oil of its own, foster these international oil companies? |
