Résumé : | This introductory research paper presents a study of coastal outcrops between Riversdale and Castlepoint on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The study area is divided into six sectors covering 1.8 kilometers. The objective of this thesis is to characterize the sedimentary dynamics that led to the construction of these deposits. 3D modelling of the outcrops was carried out, associated with the study of data from the field campaigns of Barbara CLAUSSMANN's thesis. This work has made it possible to interpret the architecture of the sedimentary bodies and to trace their deposition and outcrop. Also, the understanding of the emplacement and structure of turbidic systems in the trench-slope basins of the Hikurangi prism has allowed to conclude on channel-levee deposits in the Lower Miocene. |
