Résumé : | This research essay introduces study of stratigraphic architecture of sedimentary rocks from Motta San Giovanni's formation in Southern Calabria, Italy. This study takes place in an area of 7 kilometers square on the north of Melito Di Porto Salvo and an area of 2 kilometers square at the north of Lazzaro. The aim of this research essay is to understand sedimentary dynamics behind the Motta San Giovanni's Formation trough sedimentological, architectural and tectonics studies. For that, sections were realized in different points of the area. In the same time a geological and tectonic mapping was also completed. Data gathered during the mission help to understand architecture of sedimentary elements encountered there and to study the relation between the different areas. This shows the belonging of Motta and Saita to a same system whereas Melito belong to a different system in another sub-basin. |
